ASHY is an effervescent pop artist & songwriter hailing from New Zealand. She’s a musical chameleon, delving into sub-genres of R&B, dance and contemporary sounds, and is known for her incredibly polished production, shimmering vocals, and catchy melodies.
She has amassed over 3.5 million streams across all platforms, enjoyed chart success & has worked with leading pop producers from New Zealand, Australia, and the US. ASHY has worked with the likes of producers Josh Fountain (BENEE), Ben Wylen (Ariana Grande), Adrian Breakspear (Pharrell Williams), Liam Quinn (Peach PRC) & Sam Trevethick (Shapeshifter).In October 2021 she signed with Concord Music Publishing.
In 2022, ASHY's single 'Mirror' gained top spots and spent multiple weeks in the Official NZ Music Chart and RadioScope Airplay Chart. She was profiled on IMNZ’s ‘Going Global’ Online and Live Showcase.
2023 was a definitive year for ASHY, performing at NZ’s biggest festival; Electric Avenue and immediately following with 8 performances as an Official Showcasing Artist for SXSW in Austin TX. She then released her debut EP ‘Status’ in June 2023. The lead single 'No Man's Land' entered the NZ Charts at #1 and her previous single off the EP ‘Do Not Disturb’ spent multiple weeks on the RadioScope Airplay charts. The release of her EP gained recognition from the likes of Rolling Stone Australia in their September Print Issue, naming ASHY as one of ‘8 Kiwi Artists Tipped to Takeover’. It was also placed at No.9 on Rolling Stone’s ‘Top 25 New Zealand Albums of 2023’.
After landing sync placements in Emmy Nominated US TV Show ‘Grown-ish’ and Aussie soap 'Home and Away' she went on to perform at SXSW Sydney in October and then participated in an APRA Songhubs. She was also selected as an Official Performer for The Great Escape UK Festival for 2024. In 2024, ASHY has performed a number of shows at her second SXSW in Austin TX and followed with a successful writing week in Nashville. She is now an official voting member of the Recording Academy/ Grammys. She participated in a BIGFAN songwriting camp at Joel Little's renowned studio and performed at the NZ On Air Showcase and has opened for the Drax Project NZ Tour.
