Over jittery drum and bass production Kona cuts to the chase; “give up trying, taking comfort in halfway” she half-jokes. The first single and title track off Camp Kona’s upcoming EP, ‘Everything’ captures the chaos of being a 20 something. Her upfront vocal performance is undercut by digital drums and stuttering synths, leaving room for the existential crisis in the lyrics to bloom. Paired with a whimsical music video featuring digital animation and collaging by Naomi Miyamoto, Kona invites us to summer camp, combining granola outdoor aesthetics with city slicker refinement.

Camp Kona is a Japanese-American alternative R&B artist/producer/DJ based in Los Angeles. As a self-proclaimed choir kid, she incorporates layered vocals and lush harmonies throughout her music, capturing the essence of fireside singalongs at summer camp.
