From a young age, Sharin immersed herself in music, beginning with classical piano before discovering her passion for singing. Her talent and dedication led her to The Voice, where she competed in Season 6, followed by a spot in the Top 24 of the 2023 season of Australian Idol. These experiences showcased her remarkable vocal abilities and gave her a platform to share her distinctive artistry with a wider audience.

Now, Sharin is an emerging force in the R&B/Soul music scene, captivating audiences with her spiritual and introspective sound. Rooted in her Arab-Indonesian heritage, her music carries an exotic, haunting quality that sets her apart. GET TO KNOW - completed February 2025
3 words to describe you:
resilient, authentic, passionate

Describe your sound:
soulful, smooth, hypnotic

Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
I've always had this gut feeling since I was as young as four, that I wanted to make music. I got up to sing at my uncles wedding in Indonesia without my mum knowing at age five and surprised everyone with my courage to walk onto a stage in front of 3000 people! When I was 9, my mum took me to watch Beyoncé live and I just knew that I wanted to perform.

How does your heritage impact your art?
My heritage impacts my art in so many ways. From the soundscapes I use when I write, to the costumes I choose to wear for music videos. It also influences my music by being a guide into the artist I do and do not want to be. For example, being a Muslim artist, I refrain from too much vulgarity in my music and visuals. As an artist I am so proud of where I come from and I try to represent my heritage in the best way possible.

What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
I am most proud of coming up again after every set back. I've been making music for 5 years now and there's been so many times I've felt like giving up because of seeing someone younger or further along than me doing better. But each time, I've learnt to overcome these comparisons and focus on my own journey.

Your next music goal:
Infusing more Arabic sounds into my currently soulful RnB sound.

If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
Elyanna! She is a Palestinian-Chilean artist that makes phenomenal modern-Arab music. I love her style and think our vibes would really complement each other!

Lyrics you live by:
Love is stronger than pride

Sade
