About our artists:
Featured by Rolling Stone India & Ones to Watch, Avara is an Indian-American R&B/soul artist and producer from Atlanta, now based in Los Angeles, California. She integrates her Indian classical vocal training with her Western/choral music background. Her unique production and songwriting style capture her unique perspective of the world through sonic expression, embracing her identity as a brown woman and topics of meditation, mental health, and love and loss.
JANANI is a trailblazing world artist redefining the boundaries of fusion music. With full freedom and skill to produce, write, perform, and engineer her own sound, she draws from her roots in Hindustani classical music to create a sound that bridges diverse genres, from trap to house to baile funk. Janani has opened for, shared the stage, and collaborated with Bollywood heavy hitters like Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, performing as a vocalist in the Grammy-nominated Berklee Indian Ensemble and producing for afrobeat stars like Amaarae. You’ve never heard anything like her. Find her on streaming platforms as “JANANI” and on socials as @jananisings!
Lapgan is a Chicago-based beatmaker / producer inspired by existentialism, history, nature, and universality. His music spans influences from hip hop to classic Bollywood and Lollywood. He self-released his first beat tape Badmaash in 2019 which ties together his Indian roots and his ever expanding interest in beatmaking. In 2021, he released Duniya Kya Hai on electrocaÏne, a beat tape that unearthed rare and forgotten Indian & Pakistani music, revitalizing and recontextualizing the sounds of his ancestral home and musical predecessors. In 2023, he signed to Veena Sounds and released History, a tapestry of beats stitching together samples of Bollywood and Lollywood soundtracks, Tamil Film music, Marathi chants, flute-heavy Bengali religious music, and more. Most recently, he partnered with Heems on the critically acclaimed album LAFANDAR.
Sravya is a 19 year old singer from northern California, inspired by artists like The Marias, Yebba, and No Doubt. Her music blends south asian influences with rock and R&B. She has new music coming very soon, and is excited to share these originals with you!
