SUMMERY, EUPHORIC & TONGUE-IN-CHEEK

Rose Gold' is the first song Monica wrote after moving to Bristol from Hong Kong. She also self-produced the retro indie pop tune.

The summery, euphoric melody and tongue-in-cheek lyrics capture a moment in time when she felt like she could be young and carefree for once, quickly welcomed by a new love and the city of Bristol after coping with myriad losses back in her birth home. But there is an undercurrent of anxiety, interconnected with the twin song 'Silver' - the sequel to 'Rose Gold'.

Together, they are the singles of her debut EP 'Fairylights', named after the symbolic decorations she kept seeing in houses and on the streets of Bristol, a seeming promise of a new home.
