MARICELLE is an indie Pop R&B singer-songwriter. “the multiverse of you and me” EP is a contemplative and intimate introspection, filled with the tension between the isolation and freedom of being submerged exploration. Building her multiverse ever-evolving with producer Yaffle (@yaffl3), she tests the fragile glass floor separating euphoria and false hope. A constancy pulsates through a landscape of urban sonic textures, blending Pop and contemporary R&B. Electronic beats and synthesizers create a poetically melancholic atmosphere manifested through her dreamy eyes, with hip hop elements creating a symphonic juxtaposition of futurism and retrolution, newness and nostalgia.

Describe the moment you knew that you wanted to pursue music:
I always knew, I loved it since I was a kid. Yaffle helped me find my sound and songwritting was so fun, and cathartic.

How does your heritage impact your art?
Definitely, I grew up in California and am mixed Southeast Asian, (Indonesian and Malaysian), growing up overseas with that Asian element from my family definitely made me see the world uniquely, a unique perspective of how love is.

I live in Singapore now, a dynamic city that is at the forefront of the future. I live at an accelerated speed of city life, but when I have the time and space to unwind, my deeper thoughts delve a lot into the meaning of my life and things I want to be surrounded by. I think a lot about my experiences and draw gratitude from the myriad of experiences I've had.

What moment are you most proud of in your music journey so far?
This EP feels like the culmination of my music identity so I feel like this is a huge milestone for me. Releasing it has been exhilarating to say the least!

Your next music/career goal:
Write more music and release my next EP!

If you could collaborate with anyone, who and why?
I'd love to collaborate with more Asian artists, especially in Southeast Asia.
