Symbolises my personal journey of drifting between continents
Released on May 10, 'Silver' is the first single from Monica Wat's upcoming EP. In which the artist fuses East Asian and Western musical influences, as well as lyrical storytelling and soothing folk melody together. It symbolises Monica's personal journey of drifting between continents and their first heartbreak in the new country, having migrated from Hong Kong to Bristol, UK. As an independent filmmaker whose works have been screened by the British Film Institute, Monica also directed and produced a super 8mm film music video for the single.
Monica Wat is a singer-songwriter, producer and YouTuber from Hong Kong, now based in Bristol. They are also the founder and producer of creative collective Made on the Moon and multi-arts festival MOON FEST, which celebrate East & South East Asian creatives. The artist has previously performed solo sets at Bristol Beacon, Trinity Centre and other landmark venues.
