Born and raised in South East London to Pakistani-Indian parents, ANGELI blends her British Asian heritage and love of alt rock/indie/pop punk to champion the voice of the outsider and question the status quo. The result is a refreshing marriage of cultures and social commentary which offers a much needed respite from the current musical landscape.

Genre-bending, FRESH
If it does, how does your heritage impact your art?
There's not enough stories about the immigrant experience and sociopolitics in the mainstream and those are the things I enjoy writing about the most. I write the music I would have wanted to hear when I was younger and struggled with identity and belonging. This is something I think everyone can relate to on some level.
My music fuses the two parts of my identity; being an emo kid at heart and my Indian heritage, adding these influences into my sound throughout.
